Dallas Events

As the fourth largest city in the USA, Dallas has a large and cosmopolitan population with many different cultures celebrating the biggest events that their heritages have throughout the year. While the social life in Dallas might not be as busy as New York, the Dallas events calendar still has plenty of things going on no matter when you visit the city.
The biggest Dallas event of the year is the Texas State Fair. This annual event that attracts crowds of up to half a million a day runs for just over three weeks from the end of September, and offers plenty of attractions for visitors to enjoy. The fair has been running since 1886, and gets bigger and more spectacular every year.
Amongst the attractions on offer for visitors to the Fair, exciting white knuckle rides in a temporary amusement park vie for your attention with livestock shows, craft fairs, and many more attractions for the attention of the guests. Highlights of this major Dallas event include the rodeo shows that give visitors the chance to see the amazing skills of the cowboys in the way that they can handle their horses and ropes.
If the Texas State Fair is the biggest American celebration of the Dallas Events calendar, the Cinco De Mayo is the biggest event of the year for the large Mexican population in the city. It takes place on the fifth of May, and includes wild celebrations, parades, and plenty of tequila along with special menus in most of the restaurants.
Other major Dallas events include the celebration of American Independence on July 4th, the Thanksgiving celebrations towards the end of November, and of course St Patrick’s Day on March 17th which involves plenty of parades through the streets of Dallas, and themed Irish nights in the bars.
As a major center of business in the USA, Dallas Events include many large conferences and exhibitions that take place in the heart of the city in the conference center.
If you are traveling to Dallas during any large event such as the State Fair or a major industrial conference, then getting a room at one of the big city center hotels can be tricky, and you may have to pay a little extra for your room. Booking well in advance and checking a Dallas events calendar online prior to confirming your reservation will allow you to get the best possible deal.
